🔥 How to Use a Quartz Banger – A Step-by-Step Dabbing Guide

If you're new to dabbing or just upgraded to a quartz banger, you're in for a cleaner, more flavorful experience. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to use a quartz banger properly — from heating it to taking your hit like a pro.

💎 What You’ll Need:

  • Quartz banger

  • Dab rig

  • Butane torch

  • Dab tool

  • Concentrates (wax, shatter, rosin, etc.)

  • Carb cap

  • Timer or infrared thermometer (optional but helpful)

  • Cotton swabs & isopropyl alcohol (for cleaning)

🛠️ Step-by-Step: How to Use a Quartz Banger

1. Prep Your Dab Rig

Fill your rig with just enough water to cover the percolator holes. Attach the quartz banger securely into the joint of your dab rig.

2. Heat the Banger

Using your torch, heat the bottom and sides of the banger evenly for 20–45 seconds (depending on the thickness of the quartz). You'll want it glowing slightly, but not red-hot.

3. Let It Cool

Allow the banger to cool for about 30–60 seconds. This step is crucial! Too hot and you’ll burn your concentrate, too cold and you’ll get poor vapor.

  • Pro Tip: Use a timer or temp gun. Ideal temp is 425–550°F for a smooth, terpene-rich hit.

4. Drop in Your Dab

Use your dab tool to apply the concentrate to the center of the banger. The wax will melt and vaporize on contact.

5. Cap It

Immediately place your carb cap over the banger to control airflow and get the most vapor. If you're using terp pearls and a spinner cap — watch them spin!

6. Inhale & Enjoy

Slowly inhale from the mouthpiece of your rig while using the carb cap to adjust airflow. Enjoy the smooth, flavorful hit.

7. Clean Your Banger

Right after your hit, use a Q-tip to clean out any leftover residue while the banger is still warm. Use isopropyl alcohol for deep cleaning as needed. This keeps your banger from getting carbon buildup (turning cloudy or burnt).
